Contouring: Small chips and enamel irregularities can simply be re-contoured painlessly in minutes and can make a big difference.
Cosmetic Bonding: Spacing between the teeth can sometimes be stubborn to close completely with braces and other times orthodontics may not be desired by the patient. Often times, these conditions can be greatly improved upon with cosmetic bonding as seen in the pictures below. In addition, many times, no anesthetic is needed and the procedure is painless. Both patients below had smaller than normal lateral incisors (the teeth next to the two front teeth). In both cases, no anesthetic was needed and the restorations required one visit with minimal chair time.
Porcelain Veneers: In more complex cases, teeth may be otherwise healthy but present with many large spaces, stubborn darker staining, improper alignment, and/or other conditions that would make cosmetic bonding more unpredictable long-term. Porcelain veneers are much stronger and will typically last longer than resin bonding. In addition, porcelain best mimics natural tooth enamel and gives the patient/dentist more control over shape and color. Thus, porcelain restorations typically achieve the best aesthetic result.
Porcelain Crowns: In more complex cases where significant damage from decay has taken place, it may be necessary for a full coverage porcelain crown. Not only will this be the strongest restoration possible but will also be the most aesthetic solution as well.
